Wishing for Just One Day With You...

Oh my sweet girl, the time I had to hold you was too short.  If I was granted one wish it would be to hold you and feel your warm little hand wrap around my finger, even if it was just for one day.  I would take you home and let you sleep in my arms, never putting you down.  I would count your toes again and stroke your soft hair.  I would whisper I love you and tell you what a pretty girl you are.  I would hold you close and soothe your cries.  I would study your face and tell you how precious you are.  I would never want to let you go.  I would remember that day forever.
